Take Care of your Dentures

Proper care of your dentures helps keep them comfortable, clean, and long-lasting. Here are some tips for keeping them in tip-top shape: *Dentures should be cleaned twice daily to remove food debris, plaque, and bacteria. *Avoid regular toothpaste, as it can scratch the surface of your dentures. *Handle dentures carefully and clean them over a sink filled with water or on a towel to prevent damage if they are dropped. *When not in use, store dentures in water or a denture-soaking solution to prevent drying and potential warping. Contact us for all your denture needs.

The Magical World of Shen Yun!

The show will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver from April 8–12, 2026. Each performance weaves together 5,000 years of Chinese civilization—from ancient legends to modern-day stories. World-class dancers trained in Classical Chinese dance perform with a live orchestra. Bel canto vocalists deliver powerful pieces, while our patented backdrop technology transports dancers through celestial realms and historic landscapes. And the best part? There is a new production every year! So even if you’ve seen it before, you haven’t seen it all.

Nutrition for Seniors

March is Nutrition Month—a timely reminder that our food choices play a vital role in overall well-being, especially as we grow older. A balanced diet filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins helps support energy levels, brain function, and heart health. Staying hydrated is equally important, so drinking plenty of water throughout the day is key. Meal planning can make a big difference in maintaining proper nutrition. Smaller, more frequent meals may be easier to manage, and including calcium-rich foods like dairy products and leafy greens can help support strong bones. Good nutrition fuels both body and mind, helping us stay active, healthy, and independent longer.

Nutrition and Arthritis

Arthritis, an inflammatory joint disease with acute crises and dormant periods, brings fatigue, joint stiffness, and pain. Focusing on your diet can help manage symptoms: Control Weight: Excess weight strains joints; maintain a healthy weight through balanced meals. Embrace Omega-3: Fish with omega-3 fatty acids may ease inflammation. Sardines, herring, and mackerel are rich sources, or consider supplements. Balanced Diet: Contact a nutritionist for a personalized plan, adjusting during crises if needed. Seek Assistance: Arthritis’s impact on daily activities may necessitate help, enhancing overall quality of life. Consult with one of our pharmacists to explore how we can assist you.

Emotion Code for Addiction Support

Addiction can be a way to numb pain from past trauma and stuck, trapped emotions. The Emotion Code works as a supplemental tool by finding and releasing those specific stuck energies. Although this is not a cure, this process may help in lowering the emotional pressure that drives cravings and addictive behaviours such as the need to shop or hurting yourself or others. Used in conjunction with other therapies, it can support recovery by addressing the source of the deep-seated hurt, making it easier to build a healthier, happier life. Go from stuck to unstoppable.

Integrity Matters More Than Chemistry in Dating

Dating today can feel like a complicated science. Dating apps were meant to simplify the process, but instead, they often overwhelm us with choice and stall decision-making. That’s why approaching dating with intention and strategy matters. Many people focus on a checklist of qualities—funny, attractive, charming—but these are like décor in a house. If the foundation is weak, no amount of decoration will make it stable. In relationships, that foundation is integrity—when a person’s words and actions align. Without it, the relationship is likely to collapse.

March is Here; Time to Go Outdoors

Spring is in the air, with it, a feeling of hopefulness and renewal. Winter tends to see us more in solitude. Once it warms up and the days are longer, we want to spend more time outdoors and with friends. These activities are good for our health. Fresh air and sunshine can do wonders for our physical and mental health, and socializing helps with our mental and emotional health. Once we start, we tend to want to do more healthy things, so get out and walk with a friend, socialize, and engage—you’ll feel better about it!

Community Support for SOS

Supporting your community is one of the most rewarding things you can do. Consider volunteering or making a monthly donation to sustain vital SOS community programs. Whether you volunteer to assist a senior with grocery shopping or help at the SOS Thrift Shop, every effort contributes to uplifting lives. By choosing to contribute monthly—whether it’s $10 or $100—your support will help provide nutritious meals to children, youth, families and seniors, and ensure local residents have critical support when they need it. Join us in making a difference and feel the fulfillment that comes with giving back. Learn more on our website.

Feed Your Ears for Better Hearing

Nutrition Month is the perfect reminder that small, daily choices can support long-term hearing health. Your ears rely on proper blood flow and cellular repair, both influenced by the nutrients you consume. Foods rich in zinc, vitamins A and C, and B vitamins help protect against age-related hearing changes while boosting overall wellness. Try swapping in colourful vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to give your hearing a natural advantage. If hearing loss is already impacting your life, a simple hearing assessment can help you reconnect with the sounds that matter most.

Balance – It’s About Your Brain

Many people believe a better balance comes from stronger legs or tighter core muscles. While strength helps, balance actually begins in your brain. Your nervous system continuously gathers information from your body to keep you upright and moving safely. When this system becomes less clear due to stress, injury, aging, or inactivity, balance can feel shaky. Neuromovement® works by gently improving how your brain senses and organizes movement. Rather than pushing harder, we help your nervous system learn easier, more efficient patterns. The result? Better balance, smoother walking, and greater confidence. Curious to experience this for yourself? Reach out to learn more.
