The Canadian Dental Care Program (CDCP) is running better. Coverage authorization still takes weeks for full dentures and longer for partials, but it is improving. CDCP is a service that needs to be renewed each year to be sure you still qualify. You must have filed your current income tax and received your Notice of Assessment. After that, you will receive a letter on how to renew your coverage. The deadline is June 1, 2025. Call us for all your denture needs or if you are looking for direction about your remaining teeth.

Relief for Jaw Tension
Do you wake up with jaw tension? Or perhaps you grind your teeth at night? One thing you can do to ease the tension is to massage your jaw before bed. Simply put a fist—the first two knuckles work best—on either side of your face, just below your ears, right at the corner of the jaw (near the temporomandibular joint—that’s what TMJ stands for), then just gently traction down. Let your jaw relax and even hang open a bit as you do this. Do 3–5 passes and head to bed. Repeat anytime you notice tension in the jaw.
Do You Need a Medical Alert System?
Here are some of the reasons people use a medical alert system: *They live alone. *They use a cane or walker to assist with mobility. *They had a fall or were at risk of falling. *They sometimes feel weak or dizzy. If you face any of these issues and it is important for you to continue living independently, a medical alert system may be the answer. With Lifeline, a service that supports The Nanaimo and District Hospital Foundation, you and your loved ones can have peace of mind knowing that help is available 24/7 at the push of a button.

What’s that Ringing on My Ears?
Acupuncture effectively manages tinnitus by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and calming the nervous system. It also reduces the tension that is held in the shoulders and neck. By stimulating specific points, acupuncture helps regulate energy flow (Qi) and reduces stress, which can contribute to tinnitus symptoms. Many people experience relief as acupuncture promotes relaxation and supports overall health. While results vary, regular treatments may lessen the intensity and frequency of ringing in the ears. If you struggle with tinnitus, acupuncture offers a natural, non-invasive approach. Questions? Doreen offers a FREE 15-minute meet and greet.
